The Most Exported Car From India In FY16
Some of these cars are not best sellers in the domestic market, however, they are the most exported from India in FY16. Below is the list of top 10 cars exported from India in FY16.
Hyundai Motor India has the most number of cars on this list, Creta taking 10th place, i10, Xcent, and Grand i10 taking 9th, 8th, and 5th spots respectively on the list.
Despite showing lower export in the last two years, Hyundai has crept back with sound showing in its exports, mainly due to its best seller - Creta.
Ford was the surprising entry taking the numero uno position with sales of 83,325 units of the EcoSport. The EcoSport is facing some stiff competition in India with the recent launch of the Maruti Vitara Brezza. The number one position of the EcoSport suggests that the compact SUV is indeed a good buy and does give good value for money.
Nissan's Micra slipped to the second spot falling short by 1 percent when compared to the previous FY15.
Nissan Sunny too has slipped position and stands in the 7th spot. These two cars have been a great seller in India, however, it has paid off in terms of export numbers.
Volkswagen Vento continues to hold the third spot for consecutive years and has not been impacted even after the scandal that hit the automobile manufacturer.
This leaves us with Maruti, which made some progress in sales with Alto taking 4th spot on the list of most exported cars from India. Even though it's just one model from Maruti, the coming year could see some new entrants like the Maruti Baleno which has started to export and could topple one of the cars from the list.
This leaves us the 6th spot in the list, Chevrolet Beat has made it to the list for the first time and this is due to Make In India campaign and most of the manufacturers are pushing hard on the localisation and make their cars cost effective.
